‘INTA’ the future
Ward Trade Marks is sending Bill Ward to the 139th annual meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) held in Barcelona during late May 2017.
The International Trademark Association (INTA) is the global association of trade mark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trade marks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce.
Generally some 10,000+ registrants attend the event so by any standards it is huge. In addition, more than 1,000 professionals from big corporations, SMEs, universities, and not-for-profit organisations registered for and participated in the 2016 Annual Meeting.
Our reasons for going reflect our core values in wanting to deliver the most professional and up-to-date trade mark service operating out of the UK.
In particular, INTA 2017 offers the following benefits to trade mark attorneys and hence their clients:
The more relevant knowledge that we have, the better we can serve our clients in terms of high quality advice. INTA 2017 is packed with multiple seminars and presentations covering everything from domain name disputes, the implications of Brexit and how to combat the manufacture and sale of counterfeit products in ‘outsourcing’ countries
INTA 2017 allows us to establish face-to-face contacts with trade mark attorneys in other countries. This is a useful way for us to decide who we should partner with in order to provide an even better service for our clients.
We also get the opportunity to expand our service exporting to overseas trade mark firms and their respective clients. This translates into business for us procuring/ managing/enforcing UK and EU trade marks on behalf of those overseas clients. This also generates growth for Ward Trade Marks, allowing us to hire additional specialist people to deepen our offer to clients.
We would love to hear from our clients as to whether you have any particular issues you’d like us to raise at INTA 2017. After all, with 10,000 people expected to attend, if we can’t answer your query – there’s bound to be someone we know who can!BACK TO NEWS & OPINION
